Description
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in the Citrix portfolio (ie XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler).
- Design, implement and maintain virtual application and desktop solutions using Citrix, VMware and Microsoft technologies.
- Implement and maintain VDI solutions that can uphold continuous operations.
- Maintain Operation Excellence by helping to define and execute daily activities following Citrix best practices.
- Work with the technical team to maintain SLA's around resolving customer issues.
- Troubleshoot and assess performance issues using common Citrix utilities and/or 3rd party tools when appropriate.
- Create and maintain support documentation that will be used by engineers while troubleshooting customer issues.
- Assist in the development of operational best practices, procedures and standards.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to coworkers.
- Work selflessly to maintain the commitments and vision of the organization, even when such tasks don't fall within their core responsibilities or areas of expertise.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested.
Education, Experience & Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 4+ years of proven experience with, and in-depth understanding of, advanced Citrix deployments current versions of Citrix's software stack; most important of which,
- XenApp and XenDesktop 7.x
- Citrix NetScaler
- Citrix StoreFront
- Citrix Provisioning Methods (MCS and/or PVS)
* Advanced deployments refers to experience and in-depth understanding of implementing solutions such as,
- GSLB configuration on NetScaler, in Active/Active and Active/Passive scenarios
- Multi-Zone deployments of Citrix XenDesktop
- Multi-factor authentication integration to a Citrix environment
- 4+ years of proven experience with, and in-depth understanding of,
- VMware ESXi/vSphere 6.x
- Active Directory (including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
- Enterprise level storage products and technology
- Windows Desktop and Server OS imaging for a VDI environment
- Citrix App Layering (2+ years)
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Optional:
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
- XenApp and XenDesktop versions previous to 7.x
- HP Simplivity
Training & Certifications
- Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V); or Citrix Certified Expert - Virtualization (CCE-V)7.6 is acceptable, though 7.15 is preferred
- Citrix Certified Associate - Networking (CCA-N); or Citrix Certified Professional - Networking (CCP-N)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) 6, or higher, is a plus along with Microsoft certifications
