Modis are currently recruiting for a Strategic Procurement Account Manager to undertake an initial 9 month contract (PAYE/Umbrella) for a leading client based in Oxfordshire.
Account Manager - Strategic Procurement
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall relationship with selected suppliers and acting as the primary interface between those suppliers and internal functions.
- Overall procurement responsibility for selected categories of materials and/or services.
- Managing supplier pricing/cost structure to best advantage and to deliver against material cost budgets.
- Leading cost reduction projects with existing and potential alternative suppliers through competitive tendering, negotiation and identification of cost reduction opportunities.
- Developing relationships with key suppliers as appropriate.
- Maintaining and enhancing relationships with user departments to implement improvements in the supply chain to reduce lead times, inventory and material liabilities.
- Early identification of any potential risk to supply continuity.
- Working with Supplier Quality Assurance to evaluate and support audits of suppliers with regard to performance and to highlight potential issues.
- Working as an effective and influential team member wherever direct control is not applicable.
- Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System at the site in accordance with divisional requirements.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management
