Description
A global telecommunications consultancy are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer to work on site with an end client based in Amsterdam.This role is a 6-month rolling contract with long term opportunities. The rate is c€550 per day and expenses will be covered for applicants based throughout wider Europe.
You will be based within the Data Centre Network Department and will be expected lead and contribute into the design and delivery of network projects supporting IT data centres
Main responsibilities:
- Build new network across the Client's footprint including additional capacity to support growth and product roadmap;
- Assist with within the Network Planning Team;
- Contributing to the Mergers & Acquisitions process in terms of technical assessments of the networks in question;
- Problem resolution within agreed SLAs;
- Performance, resilience and stability of the network design solutions provided;
- Understand the business requirements and translate them into technical network solutions
- Produce detailed network layouts and data centre design;
- Creating the network LLD based on the HLD and the Connectivity Matrix;
- Design and plan the Datacentre network in an optimal and cost effective way
- Deal with major incidents in terms of Tier-3 escalations;
- Work outside of business hours required on regular basis - 1-2 times per week within designated maintenance hours (11pm - 2am)
- 10 years of experience in IP Networking and service providers
- ISP Data centers Design - IP Networks, Security and Application Delivery Solutions
- Cisco and Nexus platforms
- Checkpoint Firewalls and F5 Loadbalancers including Management Infrastructure as well as Firewall Enforcement Points
- Cisco ACI and SDn
- Microsoft Visio for network diagrams/designs
- Unix Systems and Scripting languages
- Design and build of networks and services, creation of LLDs and HLDs
