(Senior External Communications Officer Construction Estates - London 6 months c 450+ inside IR35)

The post holder will be accountable for:

Developing and ensuring the successful delivery of all aspects of an integrated communications strategy and plans for the Programme Construction/property

Manage the communications interdependencies within the Programme and other departments and specific high profile external stakeholders.
To develop and ensure the successful delivery of all aspects of an integrated communications strategy and supporting plans for the Programme.
To manage the communications interdependencies
To direct the communications activities of the Programme.
To identify opportunities to positively promote and raise awareness and understanding of the Programme.
To manage the reputational risks of the Programme.
To work closely and collaboratively with the communications leads of both Houses to ensure key messages are aligned and communicated in a co-ordinated and strategic manner.
To direct the communications around decant and business change to external stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and support for the Programme.
Ensure that accurate, trusted and high-quality information is provided to internal and external stakeholders in a timely way.
Develop and maintain good relationships with press lobby and wider media through ongoing engagement and building on successful approaches.
To contribute to the implementation of a digital strategy Programme in conjunction
Take part in the Communications teams out-of-hours media service including anticipating potential reputational risk and taking appropriate steps to mitigate that risk where necessary.
To manage FOI inquiries on the NEP, including liaising with key team members.
To adapt complex technical information (engineering, architecture, construction, financial, project management) with the support of expert colleagues and present it in a form which is readily accessible to stakeholders.
Support the drafting of papers for Boards, Commissions and Committees.
Work in an inclusive and flexible environment to deliver high quality work.
Essential:
Demonstrable experience of working in an environment that is politically sensitive and or on a major programme.
Demonstrable experience in working with a wide range of communication techniques to ensure messaging is effectively delivered to key stakeholders.
Experience of working within a construction environment or on property/estates.

Desirable:
Understanding of UK Parliament and associated stakeholders.

The role will be based in London, will run for 6 months at a rate of approximately c 450+ per day inside IR35
