Description
A Technical Support Officer is required for our client based in the North East for an initial 3 month rolling contract
The role can be based at our client's site in either Middlesbrough or Durham and will involve frequent travel between further client sites in and around the North East. Due to this, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable.
Daily duties will include:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to users, involves fault finding/fixing for complex voice and data IT systems
- Providing routine maintenance, monitoring, systems management and installation of voice and data equipment including, but not limited to, active network devices, telephone handsets, telephone Switches
- Playing a key role in the maintenance, security and development of existing systems, the identification and implementation of applications and enhancements to networks, networked operating systems and standalone applications
- Regularly undertakes equipment and application testing such as software evaluation and testing of associated hardware platforms
Required experience:
- Educated to Degree standard or equivalent or with equivalent experiential learning
- Awareness of Network support, preferably in a Cisco environment
- Previous experience of working in a Network environment
- A good understanding of, security, PCs, and PC software
- Good knowledge of MS Office and Back Office package
Desirable experience:
- Experience of supporting a complex data and voice networks, including design, installation, configuration and fault finding
- CCNA
- ITIL Foundation
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of Server administration of Windows 2000 Server, Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange Server and Web Technology
