Finance Systems Accountant - Contract - Milton Keynes

The role of Finance Systems Analyst is to successfully maintain key accounting systems (Lawson/Essbase) and Coupa, support any relevant application development work and Transformation Programme, also to liaise with internal and external audit on various systems and accounting matters.

What you need to do

General Ledger support:

  • Responsibility for setting up and maintaining the Chart of Accounts and Cost Centres in Lawson, Essbase and HFM
  • Ensuring the robustness of the data flow between Lawson, Essbase and HFM
  • Support stakeholders with access requests, and technical questions
  • Completion of tasks in line with agreed SLAs
  • Loading of budgets and forecasts in Lawson and Essbase
  • Complete period end tasks, releasing and posting journals in Lawson, and closing the General Ledger when agreed

Coupa support:

  • Management of the full integration suite of interfaces in and out of Coupa and Lawson
  • Maintenance of the data within Coupa such as FX Rates, Terms, VAT codes
  • User and Role maintenance within Coupa and ensure required segregation of duties
  • Look after the Coupa Help desk mailbox (internal user and technical Coupa queries)
  • Look after the Purchase to Pay mailbox (supplier user and technical Coupa queries)
  • Review, evaluation and testing of all new Coupa features, liaising with Stakeholders and ensuring the system is secure, changes to functionality is understood and impact evaluated

Application and Project Support - Finance Transformation Programme

  • Identify, understand, and support key projects including the upgrade of finance and source systems
  • Understand, support, and develop integrations and dataflows into Lawson, Coupa, Essbase and HFM
  • Develop a good understanding of the needs of those who use financial information, and identify and implement better ways to achieve goals
  • Support users in developing their application knowledge and ability to self-serve (Lunch & Learns, Team talks, Sharepoint, etc)

Liaise with internal and external audit

Team management and development - 1xC3 Systems analyst assistant, 1xC2 Coupa Admin

What you need to know and show

  • Qualified accountant with indicative 0-3 post-qualification experience (or studying towards a professional accounting qualification)
  • Good knowledge of financial systems (preferably Lawson, Essbase or any other Finance GL systems)
  • Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems eg reporting tools
  • Experience in driving process simplification and improvements
  • Ability to identify process issues, understand & fix root causes
  • Strong analytical skills, Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working with and presenting analytical results to Non-Finance users
  • Sound coaching and team development skills
  • Experience in a large company environment, preferably retail (desired)
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills
  • Travel required between various sites in UK
