Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Rate: Negotiable, competitive
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months initially (possibility of extension upon completion of this contract)
Hours per week: 40 hours

Mission
- As part of R&D projects, participate in high-level design and offers of innovative aeronautical actuation systems.
- In regular contact with CAD designers.
The main activities will be:
- Participate in architectural trade-offs concerning mechanical parts, and more particularly on mechanisms
- Writing specifications of components and sub-assemblies
- Conception of 3D prototypes
- Technical monitoring of mechanical elements subcontracted
- Establishing a requirements verification plan
- Monitoring the validation of requirements
Knowledge required
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 software - 3D design module and stress analysis module
- Knowledge of design standards for mechanical systems in aeronautics and space
- Knowledge of finite element calculation software (NASTRAN, SAMCEF) is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of mechanisms, such as roller screws, gear trains, anti-rotation systems, etc.
Required experience
- The employee will have already participated in the establishment of two CDR datapacks of aeronautical equipment, at least one of which is established for Airbus (aviation), at least one of which is on equipment comprising a mechanism.
Travel
- Short missions in Europe.
