Description
My Bristol based client have an immediate requirement for an experienced PHP Developer on an initial 3 month contract with likely extension.
You will be required to work within an agile development team and be responsible for the continued development, testing and deployment of websites and associated APIs taking into consideration the importance of security, performance and SEO.
The role also gives the opportunity to shape the technology used going forward with a move to a microservice infrastructure on the horizon.
Notable technologies you will work with include Wordpress, Laravel, Lumen, AWS and Docker.
Accountabilities
*Develop company websites and APIs
*Aid with testing and deployment
*Liaise with design team, QAs and business stakeholders to make sure tasks meet acceptance criteria
*Ensure all products meet security, performance and SEO standards
*Collaborate with other members of the development team
*Define future technical infrastructure to ensure products are scalable and maintainable in the future
*Ensure stability of infrastructure through monitoring logs and metrics
Requirements
Skills
Essential
*Strong ability with HTML, CSS, PHP and Vanilla Javascript
*Able to use Git source control
*Experience using a CSS preprocessor (preferably SASS/SCSS)
*Experience developing with a CMS (preferably Wordpress)
*Performance testing and monitoring
Desirable
*Experience developing APIs (Laravel and Lumen especially)
*Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team
*Development of Wordpress plugins
*Understanding of microservice infrastructure
*Understanding of best practices for web standards, security, SEO and accessibility
*Experience with Docker, AWS and CI/CD
For this role I am able to offer a daily rate of up to £380 and a likely extension.
