Description

Lead Front Arena Specialist - Contract Outside IR35 - £900pd
6 months+
We are seeking a Front Arena SME to be the application lead on a new implementation (of Front Arena) as a contractor outside IR35. Good experience in Python development is required, and preferably C#/.NET/SQL Microsoft stack; you are likely also to know ADFL or at least have the appetite to learn it.
The client is a mid-small hedge fund with operations in UK, and the Far East, and based in London West End. The implementation is being run out of the UK so this is a global role.
In the initial implementation the role will inevitably have a high support content as well strategy; over time the support element will reduce as the development element increases. NB an MSP is used for some of the BAU support though the client doesn't want this entirely outsourced.
The initial implementation will include base OMS/Trading, Book of Record, and Risk, so experience in all three areas is highly beneficial, with a minimum of 5 years in Front Arena.
The client is extending its product range and asset coverage from an Equity focus to include Fixed Income (Repos, Reverse Repos, Convertibles), and some Derivatives, CFDs - so breadth of asset class experience across at least Equity and Fixed Income is required. Indeed support for a wider product range is a key driver for the new platform.
The client would prefer someone with buy-side experience (hedge fund, or investment management) and is also very open to investment banking/capital markets.
Summary of requirements:
  • Front Arena - SME level, minimum of 5 years
  • Python
  • ADFL (ideally)
  • C#/.Net, SQL (desirable)
  • OMS/Trading, Book of Record/Portfolio Accounting, Risk
  • Breadth of asset class: across Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives at minimum
  • Hedge Fund/Investment Management ideally, very open to Investment Banking/Capital Markets.
The client will pay (within limits) the rate that they need to secure the right person (and outside of IR35), and the project is estimated to run over 2-3 years. They are also very open to someone on a temp to perm arrangement.
