Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a DBA Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£500/day (inside of IR35).Responsibilities:
As the organisation focuses on process and system improvements, technical solutions will play a major part in making the organisation more efficient. The post holder will engage with staff across the organisation to establish specific technical requirements for requested and agreed application development projects.
Systems development requests have increased significantly in recent years and there is a constant stream of requests being scoped and developed.
As the organisation's remit evolves, there are additional requirements for inter-organisational data sharing and expansion of our custom web portals.
The major deliverables for this post include providing integration between Planning, Finance and HR systems where possible, developing a corporate performance dashboard, reviewing and enhancing the current risk management system, and supporting ongoing Business Intelligence activity and expansion of Microsoft Dynamics instances.
The organisation is currently running Dynamics 2011 CRM linked with SharePoint 2010 and Outlook. There are 5 separate instances of CRM, each with its own development plan. A key area of work will involve project managing all instance development from scoping through to testing and delivery with the organisation's CRM development partner. There may be some in-house CRM development but this will be limited. However, a thorough understanding of Dynamics CRM is required.
Continue the development of the intelligence dashboard. This is currently a MVC web application which pulls data via web APIs from all the CRM instances, SharePoint and custom SQL databases to display Real Time information across the entire organisation. The Telerik MVC web controls suite is used extensively to visualise this information.
