A Procurement/Category Specialist is required to based on a public sector Client site in London to
ensure that products, services and vendor relationships are in the best interest of the Client. This position is responsible for the creation and evaluation of vendors and contracts including the Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI). This role is project based and is required to work on projects requiring; research, negotiation skills, and evaluation of services and be able to make a recommendation based on their research. You would provide recommendation of supplier selections based on research. They support the business areas in evaluations of goods or services and are able to provide support when in negotiations.

Essential skills/experience required:

4-6 years of business experience required.
2-4 years of procurement experience preferred.
Work with the company's team members and Suppliers/Vendors to facilitate Requests for Proposals, Request for Quotes and Invitations to Bid.
Must have a working knowledge of the categories they manage in order to lead the team members who report to them.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spend strategies, product demands and purchasing time lines through analytical capabilities.
Excellent skills in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
Must manage the selection of preferred vendors and document the selection process for those vendors and maintain vendor evaluations for those preferred vendors.
Experience of stakeholder management and developing networks.
The ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, be proactive, take action and anticipate opportunities.
Use a variety of methods to understand the needs of the customer and their differing levels of skills and experience.

Duties include:

Work with Internal Customers to facilitate Request for Proposals, Request for Quotes and Invitations to Bid.
Conceive, Develop and Deliver techniques, practices, and procedures for Compliance administration in a matter that protects the Clients interests.
Prepares, review and presents reports as requested.
Independently works on large projects including both purchasing and process changes with a high level of discretion and independence
Maintain all documentation on all procedures
Supports the Buyers and Category Managers by providing contract support and expertise.
Evaluates vendor performance for the preferred vendors.
Has the skills to perform the buyers or Category Specialist roles if needed to support the Procurement team.
Researches and makes recommendations to internal customers based on analysis.
Can work to support a Category Specialist if needed.
