You will lead migration activities from a Network Rail Electrical Control Room from the existing system to the new SCADA solution. This will be a daily activity during office hours but may require weekend overtime work.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead Migration activities from an Electrical Control Room from the existing system to the new SCADA solution

  • Coordinate site teams to migrate Railway electrical devices to the given schedule.

  • Support the operators with the new software and cooperate with Rail electrification rules.

  • Regular discussions with operators to find potential risks and blockers.

  • Run testing between site engineers, NOC and key SMEs.

  • Work collaboratively with network rail to keep migration and develop the migration processes.

  • Escalation of any incident to the relevant designers, NOC or SME.

  • Report and escalate problems or failures identified during testing to the appropriate parties.

  • Accurate daily record keeping of events and with handover given to operators.

  • Complete train ing and understand operation of electrification SCADA software.

Typical Deliverables:

  • Migration and testing of new devices on the new system.

  • Daily records of migration activities.

  • Populate documents that feed into Form E.

  • Strong relationship built with the customer both operators and other Network Rail parties.

  • Support on-site installation and testing.

  • Contribute to migration success by improving processes.

Business Operations Skills Experience:

  • Experience in the integration of large SCADA systems

  • Experience of migrating onto new systems as part of a transformation project.

  • Able to coordinate corrective and preventative tasks at all levels

  • Customer focused testing of new software solutions.

  • Able to undertake technical investigations and audits

  • Knowledgeable in the design, architecture and configuration of the relevant systems

  • Able to maintain procedures, reports, plans and associated technical and performance documentation

  • Able to identify issues and escalate to the engineer's investigation in a timely fashion.

  • Able to produce testing documentation and accurate records.

Desirable:

  • Experience of Commissioning of relevant systems in the Rail environment.

  • Practical experience of safety and operational process/procedures in the Rail environment.

  • Knowledge of the legislative and technical standards applicable to the Rail Environment.
