Description

Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer you will be required to mature design engineering data through to release, considering functional requirements from multiple sources using project defined toolset (CATIA/PDM) on the F-35 programme based east of Preston.

Responsibilities include analysing information and applying sound engineering judgement to solve problems, applying relevant engineering and design standards and processes. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of stakeholders. Working in a multidisciplinary integrated team engaging with external customers, suppliers and partners. £36 per hour and offering a 12 month contract!

. At least 5 years' experience in an Airframe Design role.
. Typically hold a relevant engineering qualification to HNC/HND level or above.
. Experience of operating in an airframe design role preferably in one or more phases of an airframe product life cycle desirable.
. To demonstrate a level of proficiency in CATIA V5 and experience in a PDM system.
. To demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of stakeholders.
. Experience of working with external customers, suppliers and partners desirable.
. Ideally candidates would have experience in independent design checking.

Responsibilities

KRA 1
Prepare and issue engineering data to meet project requirements, in line with design standards, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherance.

SOP 1
Engineering data to be issued in accordance with agreed programme timescales to a high quality standard.

KRA 2
Check engineering data to ensure compliance with project requirements.

SOP 2
Data to be checked in accordance with current working practices.

KRA 3
Liaise with team members in other departments and customer areas to foster team working and a collaborative environment.

SOP 3
Maintain and promote professional standards of conduct at all times and display a positive attitude towards the work of the team, both internal and external to the team and company. Support all activities designed to promote benefit to the business.

KRA 4
Identify riskd and propose mitigation action.

SOP 4
Feedback provided to design team lead.
