Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a financial services organisation, are currently looking to recruit 2 x Investment Risk Advisors, to be based remotely, for initial 6 month contracts on a rate of c.£/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:
Advising on risk (particularly Credit and Investment) and compliance in support of the senior team
Developing an effective credit and investment risk function, including identifying the requisite staff skills and supporting infrastructure that will be needed
Ensuring effective capabilities and models are in place to provide robust credit and investment risk support for transactions
Defining and maintaining the relevant risk appetite and supporting policies, frameworks and risk models, consistent with the Bank's risk appetite
Developing, maintaining and embedding credit and investment risk and control frameworks across the functions of the bank as they are created, and ensuring that risk and compliance processes are fit for purpose
Developing, managing and refining risk and compliance reporting in order to support effective decision making by stakeholders across the bank, including the board and key committees
Providing input and challenge as a member of the advisory team and key committees in relation to the operation of the business, management of issues/challenges, strategic direction and achievement of the bank's mission-focussed objectives
Understanding the regulatory environment that the bank operates within and ensuring regulatory requirements are Embedded within the bank's policies and frameworks

Requirements:
Significant experience of credit and investment risk within the UK financial services industry, preferably in financial institutions with a focus on development or project finance and/or principal investments
Held a significant risk role in a risk function within a bank or similarly regulated institution
Leadership experience with a record of managing people, skilled communication and the ability to influence others
Considerable knowledge and experience of developing and applying best practice risk management and compliance frameworks, methods and tools
Knowledge and understanding of control frameworks/arrangements and compliance monitoring
Knowledge of the regulatory environment and regulatory requirements relating to UK financial services institutions and the operations of the bank
Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution
As a member of the team supporting the creation of the Bank, an understanding of the broader operations of a business and the issues involved in running a business, including financial aspects and strategic planning, is required
