I am currently recruiting a Linux Server Specialist for an excellent 6 months contract (+ likely extension), in Heerlenfor Netherlands, who can hit the ground running the installation, configuration, maintenance of Linux operating system.
This role involves Server Side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities. The Linux Server Specialist will also configure user access and monitor system stability and security through deployment and everyday use.
This role requires extensive familiarity with Linux systems and Servers and may involve a high level of risk assessment and user support. Because Linux is an open-source operating system, administrators also frequently communicate and collaborate with other developers to develop and implement system enhancements.
Here are some of the day to day tasks for the Linux Server Specialist role in Heerlen.
- Perform top level troubleshooting and escalated known issues to the quality team.
- Convey open client issues and helped maintain client production environment.
- Perform Unix Scripting and oversaw Linux Servers
- Manage databases and generated stored procedures
- Install and Configure Linux Servers and Systems
- Maintain System Security (please note this skill would be a win!)
- Perform System Maintenance
- Create System Backups
- Monitor System Performance
- Provide Technical Support and Guidance
