IFS Application Engineer x 2 - £ per day 6 months +
Leading engineering company is actively expanding their IFS provision and as such is currently recruiting 2 IFS Specialists to join the remote support team assiting with a Major IFS upgrade from Apps 7 to Apps 10.
Ideally the successful candidates will also have some database skills - Configuration and Release and Deployment of Oracle.
The successful IFS Application Engineers will be tasked with
- Management of the transition of applications into the production environment. Ensure all changes are tested, documented and version controlled
- Support the management and delivery of applications and configuration of the relevant installations to ensure continuous service
- Provide a Release Management role for the promotion of application development code and configuration versions between environments
- Responsibility for process and procedures to ensure document configuration management, modification management, build management, version controls, and gate review documentation are adhered to.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for applications. Resolution of issues to a permanent fix
- Implementation of minor changes and new interfaces
- Manage the acceptance and support of applications developed by third party companies. Perform documentation reviews and publish applications into the appropriate environment
- Provide SME input to ensure applications are optimised and monitored for availability, capacity and performance
Major Activities/Accountabilities:
- Prioritise 2nd and 3rd line problems and issues to ensure Land Applications Services are delivered.
- Provide technical input for key projects
- Ensure the controlled configuration of applications
- Follow processes and best practice to ensure configuration and development of solutions are testable and traceable
- Identify new ways to exploit functionality in applications in accordance with the application roadmap
- Ensure any changes are agreed with the stakeholder community and align with the IT strategy
- Provide consistent application and systems documentation through all of the application life cycle
Key Technical Skills/Experience:
- Good knowledge of IFS 7 SP3.5 - Centura/IEE ERP Application Suite including;
