UNIX Systems Administrators (AIX/Linux) - Luxembourg
Languages: ENGLISH only.
Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in AIX, UNIX, Linux or Solaris Operating System(s) and ability to work with K-Shell and BSH scripts.
- Expertise on various UNIX platform migration planning, implementation and effort estimation across all UNIX H/W.(VMware/KVM/LDOM/Zone/HP-VM).
- Experience with troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ITIL methodology, Virtualisation (loom/cdom), configuration and administration of Veritas Cluster, disk and file system management through Veritas Volume Manager, Zone and Global Zone Management, raw devices creation, NIS and LDAP.
- Knowledge of Disk, LVM/GPFS, FS management, user management, performing system health check and configuration, backup and monitoring management and configuration, server build.
- Ability to design and develop the applications using the AIX/Unix/Linux/or Solaris System internals and Scripts.
- Thorough applied technical knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Solaris Operating Systems (Hardware, Software).
- Familiarity with RedHat, Power8, HMC, HACMP, SAN, FTP, NFS and Shell.
- Capable of performing installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning.
Description of work:
- Management and responsibility for support of production Linux/AIX for Clients.
- Incident/Service request management: Assign incidents in IPC tool, regularly document the progress of resolution, document all available information in the resolution field for future analysis, resolve the incident, involve delivery analyst in case of re-occuring incidents, server and application patching and update.
- Change execution: Review and approve/reject assigned changes within one day since assignment, review and approve/reject changes assigned to different teams, assign changes/tasks going to execute to ensure clear ownership, prepare, execute and close the change.
- Problem management: Consolidate inputs from all involved teams and vendors to deliver complete analysis, provide the RCA in SLA.
- Creates and delivers an Enterprise Blueprint that effectively translates a business vision into an UNIX Enterprise solution roadmap in a pre-sales and execution.
- Operation and maintenance of operating systems across multiple platforms, Middleware applications, various database technologies, high availability solutions and load balancing.
- Database administration, capacity planning, performance management, security compliance.
