Description
• Approx. 5 years’ experience as Teradata Database Administrator• Administration of Workload Management tools / TASM. Creation / deployment of new TASM rulesets to protect workload. Agreeing application workload management requirements with application support teams
• Trouble shooting skill to respond to issues, identify root causes and resolve problems.
• Managing new environment installation. Liaising with Teradata Engineers on new kit installation. Agreeing power and siting requirements with Data Centre management. Agreeing network requirements with Data Network teams. Organising and managing changes to bring new kit in and follow up all installation activities
• Managing Teradata hardware change activities and liaising with Teradata Engineers. Co-ordination or patch releases, fixes, upgrades. Managing additional activities around major upgrades such as ensuring suitable application testing is carried out, and that other pre-requisite activities such as upgrades to complementary products (SAS, DataStage etc) are carried out in a timely fashion by the relevant teams to meet the Teradata upgrade requirements
• Administration of Teradata Viewpoint / DBQL / PDCR / ResUsage. Agreeing and implementing monitoring strategies using these and other tools. Managing upgrades to Viewpoint as necessary. Exploitation of Viewpoint to monitor for and alert on potential issues such as excessive system usage, possible problem queries
• Implementation and administration of Teradata backups using Teradata DSA (Data Stream Architecture)
• Implementation and administration of Teradata Contingency procedures for either hot / cold, hot / warm or hot /hot configurations. Use of Teradata Unity and Data Mover tools to manage Teradata Contingency procedures.
• Installation and troubleshooting of Cyber Security products on Teradata nodes to ensure all audit and regulatory requirements are met, for example TPAM, Guardium, CCS
• Teradata database support, Development, UAT and Production changes, user and system account management.
