Description

*Systems Administrator, Microsoft COTS - Contract (until )- Up to €60 per hour - Mons, Belgium - SC Clearance required*

A temporary position providing architectural support to a specialist NATO agency based in Belgium; this contract initially runs until the end of the year, though due to the length of the work programme there are extensions available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Operating System infrastructure solutions support and system administration on Microsoft Windows Server (2003 & 2008) and Windows 7 Enterprise client infrastructure.
  • Provide expert knowledge in supporting and administrating Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft technologies including: MS SQL server (2005 & 2008), MS Cluster Services and MS Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
  • Provide disaster recovery support using Symantec Backup (Backup Exec 12.5) solution (with hardware emphasis on HP DL380, HP Tape library).
  • Proactively manage, support and perform high level tasks associated with the efficient and effective operation of various operating systems on multiple hardware platforms.
  • Maintain and undertake system technical documentation appropriate for various audiences including technical staff, business managers and end users on existing IT infrastructure.
  • Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant agreement and in accordance with the skills.
  • Support ongoing improvement in the operations of the NCIRC ICT infrastructure through the business process analysis, particularly in relation to systems and network server technology.

Skills and Experience:

  • 2-3 years demonstrable work experience in administration and maintenance of a secure Microsoft based multi-segment TCP/IP network infrastructure including Active Directory and MS Windows Server operating systems and associated services and hardware.
  • At least two years demonstrable work experience and expert knowledge of MS Active Directory and GPO design
  • Management and system patching according to NATO standards and procedures.
  • Strong experience for disaster recovery support using Symantec Backup (Backup Exec 12.5) solution (with hardware emphasis on HP DL 380, HP Tape library)
  • At least two years demonstrable work experience and good knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec v12 5
  • Demonstrable work experience of a centralized Intel Security (former McAfee) ePO endpoint security managed infrastructure environment.
  • At least 2 years work experience in deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows 7 clients.
  • Hands-on demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical infrastructure and system problems.
  • The Contractor should have at least 1 year of demonstrable TCP/IP, ONS Network architectures' design and their associated security aspects.
  • Have the ability to use standard office automation tools (MS Office Professional)
  • Experience in office communication and information systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Due to the sensitivity of the work the Contractor may have to undertake he/she must possess an unequivocal level of trust and discretion.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in supporting and maintaining NATO CIS in a NATO environment.
  • Experience with managing and coordinating communication and troubleshooting efforts with third party hardware vendors as described in service support contracts.

Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will require active SC clearance; additionally, while this contract is initially running to the 31st December, this role is part of a three-year work programme, so extensions are likely.
