Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Head of Data for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable.Responsibilities:
This post will lead the transition from a programme into a stable and sustainable network. To drive the delivery of agreed information products and services.

Drive the strategic direction of the network
Engage and influence to develop and maintain a strong collaborative and capable network
Influence and shape the structure and delivery mechanisms of the network, seeking collaborative solutions and drawing on capability from across the network
Be accountable for the maintenance and development of key products, such as the network data catalogue, capability directory and handbook
Build and lead the data & infrastructure network core team, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well
Lead your team to solicit, analyse and deliver products drawing on the resources available across the network, fostering collaborative working
Focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services, helping the team to remove blockers and progress
Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the core team, sharing your skills and knowledge to aid development
Essential Skills:
Track record of strong leadership and ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape
Background in data driven initiatives and understanding of data and business analysis
Experience of working in a public sector environment
Experience in operationalising new initiatives and managing transitions
