A World Leading Energy company has an Operational Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) role within the Risk function of Trading & Supply.

This role will work across multiple Operational Risk Management Framework related workstreams to design, define and deploy Framework Components into the Trading & Supply business.

The priority focus of the role will initially be the Risk & Control Assessment (RCA) Pilot, joining a team that will include the company's staff, consultants and other contractors. The role will work closely with the RCA Workstream Lead, Operational Risk and Compliance Business Leads and Programme Manager; together with the Business Integration & Assurance Managers (BIAMs) from LOD1.

The Risk Management Approach (RMA) Programme of work is complex with multiple workstreams being established to design, build and roll out an Integrated Risk Framework. An experienced Risk SME is required to increase the depth of knowledge and capacity in the Operational Risk Management function and the level of Risk Management Framework knowledge in Trading & Supply.

This individual will need to have a good depth of Risk knowledge & experience as they will be expected to be able to move between workstreams based on the priorities at the time. For example, although the RCA stream will be the priority; they will be expected to be able to work on other Risk Framework components too - such as Policies, Risk Appetite, Controls Management, Issue Management, Risk MI & Data etc.

Must have:
- 5-10 years Commercial Experience with Operational Risk within Commodity Trading and/or Supply

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
