Description

We are looking for a Service Engineering Consultant for our client on a contract based initially fully remote, but then based onsite in Dublin, Ireland

This is ideal for a strong senior Support Engineer with an understanding of server and network infrastructure while supporting enterprise-level server hardware, databases, and networks.

Ideal Skills Required:
- College/university degree leading to a foundational understanding of server and network infrastructure
- 1-2 years of experience working in operations support following procedures, gathering metrics, and monitoring for both automated and manual notification
- 2-3 years of experience supporting enterprise-level server hardware, databases, and networks
- Understanding of Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems installation, troubleshooting, and patching
- Prior experience with alerting, incident management, and ticketing and work tracking tools such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Microsoft System Center Service Manager
- Ability and willingness to work in a shift (both day and night) environment providing 24x7x365 support
- Excellent customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to respond to questions and requests in a helpful, empathetic, and professional way
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communicator capable of working closely and
effectively within a diverse team; able to maintain professionalism while engaging in supportive and collaborative dialogue
- Superior written communication skills, preferably with experience adhering to strong standards of grammar, templates, styles, and standards; able to capture notes and minutes
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented individual contributor interested in continuous improvement
- Proven ability to maintain an appropriate level of urgency and focus in a stressful and potentially distracting environment
- Demonstrated ability to react quickly and to handle multiple, often complex, tasks with little to no forewarning
- Demonstrated capacity to solve complex problems, meet timelines, and meet mission-critical service level objectives
- Proven capacity to effectively balance multiple responsibilities without compromising work quality

Additional Preferred Skills:
- IT-related college/university degree; certification
- Prior experience analysing data and pulling service logs to investigate trends and identify errors
- Working knowledge of ITIL or similar service management model
