Atlassian Lead Engineer

Whitehall Resources currently require an experience Attlassian Engineer to work with a key client

Project and role description -

The Atlassian Lead Engineer will work closely with the client to understand their requirement, recommended and design the best solution, and then deploy and configure the solution including any migration activities where required. The role will also involve coaching and mentoring other Atlassian engineers.

Task description and tasks -

Responsible for understanding client needs and the Atlassian products that would match these needs, design and implement the most appropriate solution along with bringing forwards the engineering teams development.
Experience with configuration, design and implementation of solutions that meet customer requirements.
Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team including Junior Talent.
Creation and maintenance of high quality support documentation.
Attend customer meetings, offering crucial technical advice and support to other areas and the customer themselves.
Provide training, knowledge share on Atlassian tools, best practices and solutions.
Extensive knowledge and experience of Atlassian Migrations to on-prem and cloud environments.
Lead and support proposals, business case development including financial, commercial and contractual consideration.
Lead and perform healthchecks on atlassian environments including platform, database and applications.
Support pre and post sales opportunities through customer workshops presentations, demonstrations and requirements gathering

Technologies -

Atlassian products (JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd, Fisheye, Crucible)
Atlassian marketplace add-ons eg Portfolio for JIRA, Eazy-BI, Scriptrunner, email this issue, configuration manager for JIRA, J-Editor, Multilevel cascading select, SAML single sign on, Automation for JIRA, dynamic forms for JIRA.
Linux, Apache, SQL Server, PostGres
DevOps Tooling such as AWS, Terraform and Ansible
Experience and knowledge in ALM and CI/CD. Use of Atlassian tooling to support
ALM and CI/CD processes.
Experience and knowledge of cloud platforms.

Technical skills -

Extensive knowledge of Atlassian products (JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd, Fisheye, Crucible) - all mandatory
Advanced knowledge: AWS, Terraform, Ansible Tower/AWX, GitHub, Restful
APIs, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, GlusterFS
Intermediate knowledge: Vagrant, Jenkins, SQL, Python,
Certifications within any of the above skills
Advanced IT Architecture Skills
Advanced CI/CD Tooling/Methodologies
Full knowledge of Configuration Management
Full knowledge of the development life cycle
Full knowledge of Risk, Change & Problem Management
Atlassian Marketplace Add-Ons Knowledge

Mandatory business skills -

Service focussed with a strong team ethic. Must display good attention to detail and willingness/ability to learn. Good communication and presentation skills along with strong stakeholder management skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate ownership of their own work and that of their team, be proactive and be capable of leading activities or initiatives independently.
Understanding and application of Agile ways of working
Good commercial awareness - mindful of the need to control costs and torecharge activities to clients.
Works well under pressure with the ability to prioritise critical activities and tasks.
