Software Engineer
Location - Cambridge (Remote)
Duration - 6 months
Pay = £300 - £340 per day
My client are a global marketing leading software company who are developing a revolutionary new technique to store data in glass using femtosecond lasers and read it out using advanced optical imaging techniques. This position is for a proficient software engineer who will have the opportunity to impact the design of this exciting new storage system by helping develop the signal processing required to read data out.
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for
- Analysing signal data
- Monitoring how existing numeric algorithms are performing
- Tuning and tweaking them to improve the recovered signal,
- Talking to other team members to gather details of their issues, and brainstorm on possible improvements.
- Implementing said improvements, and reporting on results
What do we want from you?
- Python and numpy experience
- Digital signals processing experience
- Excellent software design and implementation skills.
- Skilled in signal processing and filtering on 2D images and is comfortable with the continuous mathematics underpinning this.
- Good communication, teamworking and demonstrated research competence (PhD, masters or equivalent in a relevant discipline) are important for the role.
