Job Purpose
Risk Program Architect - Basel III
Basel III Platform Architect, Risk is responsible for coordinating key changes arising from Basel III requirements across Global Risk sub-functions and other functions within the Banking Group, to ensure the solution architecture aligns to strategy whilst meeting regulatory deadlines.
The Platform Architect will report to the Chief Risk Architect, but will work closely with the Wholesale Credit Risk Lead Architect and Head of Wholesale Credit Risk Technology.
Key responsibilities:
- The role holder will oversee all aspects of the Basel III platform architecture for Global Risk including:
- Act as a SME on the design and implementation of technology solutions to meet the needs of the Basel III regulations on a tactical and strategic basis spanning all Risk sub-functions.
- Act as the architecture SPOC within Risk and for other functions to ensure appropriate and strategically aligned solutions that cross-cut across Banks functions and regions
- Work with the Risk CDO to ensure that the Global Risk technology strategy supports the Risk data strategy
- Be a champion for pragmatic and sustainable cloud adoption and re-platforming onto Google Cloud
Contribute towards making the Risk IT Communities of Practice for Architecture, DevOps and tooling effective and self-sustaining. Drive a culture of blogging and sharing to re-enforce this.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of Risk functions, particularly Credit Risk
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex Architectural problems at scale
- Built effective networks internally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences including senior executives, business, architecture governance bodies and IT delivery
