Description

Job Purpose:

  • Management of Sprints in accordance with Scrum Framework
  • Support of backlog creation and grooming
  • Running of daily Stand-Ups
  • Hold Sprint Planning Meetings, Sprint Demonstration and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Obtaining buy-in and commitment from Sprint Team against the Sprint Plan
  • Planning of Sprints with the Sprint Team prior to the start of the Sprint in order to declare achievable Sprint goals
  • Drive success by understanding the priorities from the Product Owner and senior stakeholders
  • Maintaining and reporting of Sprint Burn downs and timely reporting of deviations from plan, providing suggestions for any re-planning required based upon the priorities within the Sprint Backlog
  • Reporting Sprint progress and status
  • Support the team in improving estimation techniques and breaking down of work
  • Communication of estimates for planned work to the Engineering Manager

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Enable the team to achieve the Sprint goal by removing blockers and facilitating best practice to support the team
  • Take an active role in maturing the teams approach to Agile and DevOps practices
  • Support wider Communities of Practice for Scrum Masters and Agile ways of working
  • Sharing knowledge across multiple Scrum Teams
  • Help define metrics to highlight success
  • Willing to define, document and iterate our agile processes by enhancing our technical practices

Essential Skills for the role:

  • Experience of running Scrum for software/infrastructure teams
  • Comfortable using Atlassian suite of products - JIRA and Confluence
  • Fosters teamwork and collaboration
  • Be a good facilitator to obtain buy in and shield the team
  • Technical systems engineering background, ideally hands on with modern software delivery toolchains and understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery and cloud native technologies
  • Agile experience and willingness to coach and champion agile ways of working
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Planning and organisation
  • Self-motivated and organised individual

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Previous experience performing a similar role for a min of 3 years
  • Scrum Master certification (desirable)
  • Agile certification
  • JIRA & Confluence experience
  • Understanding of DevOps
  • SC Cleared or willing to obtain
