We are hiring for Procurement/Commercial/Category - Manager/Lead/Officer in London/Andover/Manchester/Leeds
Multiple Roles - SC Clearance NOT MANDATORY
- Working within a commercial team to deliver programme objectives; Supporting colleagues to achieve targets in relevant timescales; Developing successful working relationships with external suppliers. Contributing to procurement and contract strategies; Compiling and issuing tenders; Administering contract amendments; Providing commercial advice and guidance to the wider business; Ensuring all procurement activities are within budget; Ensuring all activity undertaken is in line with government regulations and best practice.
- Procurement and Finance Officer role to provide flexible and proactive procurement and commercial support service to multiple business areas within the Social Mobility Commission team.
- The post holder will be required to engage with DfE supply chain, provision of operational tendering support and development of commercial arrangements working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Commercial Lead for each category, the candidate will be responsible for:
- All aspects of the commercial life cycle, including pre-market engagement, procurement process, contract award and contract management for complex, sensitive and high value commercial projects.
- Proactively lead, support and challenge customers throughout the commercial life cycle of allocated commercial requirements to ensure best commercial outcomes are achieved.
- Maintaining a category pipeline to allow commercial support to start in good time to ensure a full range of commercial options can be considered.
- Support the Commercial Lead to develop and maintain the category plan.
- Quickly gaining a deep understanding of the supply market, category, and business context and using this knowledge to inform and deliver commercial strategies.
