Description

I have a requirement for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to support an end customer of a Cyber Security Professional Services organisation.

The end customer is located in Belfast, but remote working is also available.

The Role

  • You will be required to support their core bespoke system, which is running on an IBMi platform and developed using native RPG and free RPG.
  • Web based solutions have been developed using IceBreak.
  • The operating system is V7R2 and the database is native DB2. The internal core system is maintained and developed by the in-house IT team.
  • You will need tp provide administrative support for the current ICT infrastructure
  • Support them with installation and configuration of IBMi software and hardware. (including operating system upgrades and PTF installations).
  • Installation and configuration of hardware and software in the virtual environment
  • Assist them with backup and disaster recovery of all Servers
  • Software implementation and upgrades for the Windows Server
  • Upgrade IBMi operating system from V7R2 to V7R3
  • Upgrades/updates on all hardware/Firewalls
  • Troubleshoot all hardware and software faults, and provide resolutions where possible
  • Support the roll-out of all new applications
