Web Content Editor - Remote - 3 Month Contract

Our Public Sector client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Editor to on a 3 month initial contract.

Main duties will include:

  • Publishing quality assured content using the Umbraco content management system according to procedures.
  • Ensuring that web content complies with usability, accessibility and other standards;
  • Adding metadata to all content components following guidelines and taxonomies;
  • Locating and editing web links within a content management system;
  • Publishing webpages to make any updates live;
  • Checking broken links have been fixed;
  • Updating a spreadsheet showing progress with the broken links task.

Essential skills

  • Experience of working with a content management system (CMS) - including using HTML and search engine optimisation - to produce online content;
  • Excellent writing skills - including impeccable spelling and grammar;
  • Experience of developing and publishing web content using a user-centred design approach;
  • Editorial accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a proactive manner.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of using Umbraco as a CMS;
  • A clear understanding of website standards and regulations including usability and accessibility;
  • Experience in online content review and quality assurance processes;
  • Experience of using web analytic solutions and interpreting web statistics.
