Web Content Editor - Remote - 3 Month Contract
Our Public Sector client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Editor to on a 3 month initial contract.
Main duties will include:
- Publishing quality assured content using the Umbraco content management system according to procedures.
- Ensuring that web content complies with usability, accessibility and other standards;
- Adding metadata to all content components following guidelines and taxonomies;
- Locating and editing web links within a content management system;
- Publishing webpages to make any updates live;
- Checking broken links have been fixed;
- Updating a spreadsheet showing progress with the broken links task.
Essential skills
- Experience of working with a content management system (CMS) - including using HTML and search engine optimisation - to produce online content;
- Excellent writing skills - including impeccable spelling and grammar;
- Experience of developing and publishing web content using a user-centred design approach;
- Editorial accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
- Ability to work autonomously and in a proactive manner.
Desirable skills
- Experience of using Umbraco as a CMS;
- A clear understanding of website standards and regulations including usability and accessibility;
- Experience in online content review and quality assurance processes;
- Experience of using web analytic solutions and interpreting web statistics.
