Electrical/Electronic Engineer

An amazing opportunity for an experienced Electrical/Electronic Engineer for an initial 11 month contract. The post holder will lead and manage the installation of logger upgrades and comms links, to ensure the sites are ready for transition to the next generation observing system.

What the role entails:

  • Build and test solution prior to installation and prepare documentation and installation instructions as required.

  • Attend sites to undertake site surveys as required and produce full documentation

  • Lead an engineering installation team in resolving any equipment or communication faults/problems

  • Carry out root cause analysis of any issues and feeding back to the wider project delivery team

  • Complete post installation admin to enable effective management of assets and records

To be considered for the role, you will require the following:

  • NVQ Level 4 or higher in Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Environment or equivalent qualification and/or experience

  • Possess a valid driving licence and be prepared to drive official vehicles; Engineers require Colour Perception CP2 or better to drive vehicles on airports or ports

  • Proven experience in leading and influencing the development of work plans,

  • Proven experience in using existing and emerging engineering practice to lead the delivery of the work plans

  • Proven experience in leading and managing the generation and presentation of documentation and reports

  • Proven ability in the installation and testing of Campbell Scientific loggers, or equivalent experience with similar technology

  • Experience/or detailed knowledge of the installation and testing of IP line-drivers, bullet radios or equivalent experience with similar technology

  • Membership of a Professional Engineering body such as the IET and able to demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development (CPD).

Desirable attributable include:

  • Experience of AWS

  • Experience of working with comms infrastructure
