* CONTRACT - Infrastructure Engineer Lead Analyst - WFH - £350 up to £360 per day*

We are looking for an experienced and motivated senior infrastructure engineer with strong Infrastructure Engineering experience who will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Cloud platforms as well as physical platforms, overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently. The availability, integrity, security and performance of our infrastructure will be your main motivation. The candidate should be detail-oriented, proficient with technologies and hardware. Responsibilities include upgrading and improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, and providing technical support and training for users.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry's best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems. You have good communication and collaboration skills, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate applied knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability) Demonstrate applied knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability) Act as a Technical lead within the group for cloud MigrationProvide 3rd and 4th level support. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues
  • Assist in driving scope definition where needed, technical design, and validation of proposed operational workflows
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue
  • Ensure delivered solutions are handed off operationally with appropriate documentation (eg best practices, design documents, run books) required
  • Migrate applications, databases and storage systems to AWS from Enterprise On-premise infrastructure
  • Assist in driving scope definition where needed, technical design, and validation of proposed operational workflows
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue
  • Ensure delivered solutions are handed off operationally with appropriate documentation (eg best practices, design documents, run books) Required:
  • 10 + years of experience, including Infrastructure, Migration, Technical architecture, network management, application development, and operations.
  • Experience in Migrating applications, databases and storage systems to AWS from Enterprise On-premise infrastructure
  • 3 + years hands-on experience with AWS core infrastructure components including expert level experience with IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, and RouteManage and Maintain Cloud Platforms. Hands-on experience with cloud core infrastructure components including expert level experience with IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, and Route
  • Installing, maintaining and monitoring operating environments
  • Manage incidents and requests across a number of disciplines (including, but not limited to) - Windows and Linux Servers hosted on vSphere/ESXi and Cisco UCS/EMC storage
  • Managing and maintaining a complex full stack Citrix Environment and Infrastructure
  • Proactively monitor and resolve infrastructure service issues prior to escalation
  • Liaise with managed hosting services to deliver first class services and vendor support
  • Managing core operating systems and virtualization platforms including upgrades, configuration and patching
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability and security. Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively
  • Administrator, build, and upgrade core business infrastructure including computing, storage, and disaster recovery systems
  • Documenting all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response
  • Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Performing systems administration of off-prem and cloud infrastructure
  • Generating performance reports for operating systems.
  • Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
  • Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
  • Participate in change activity that may be scheduled out of hours

Required skills:

  • Demonstrate applied knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
  • Proven experience supporting Cloud Platforms
  • Windows Server 2
  • VMware vSphere 6.0 to 6.7 (VCSA, ESXi, DRS, HA, VUM)
  • Change and incident management processes
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
