Location: Feltham/London
Job Purpose and primary objectives:
To fulfil Data Centre Mgmt Technician role
Key Skills/Knowledge:

Act as a single point of contact for technical specialist and project teams wishing to arrange the installation of Servers, appliances, storage and network devices within data centres

Prioritise, plan, co-ordinate and schedule server installation activities (involving IBM, HP, Oracle, platform teams and DCMT) on behalf of programme teams - covering hardware, networking, OS configuration and base Operations Architecture tool installation.

Maintain and test the data centre facilities ensuring the data processing environment is available at all required times

Maintain a relationship with key suppliers with relation to the Data Centre facilities and the resolution of technical problems

Experience required: (Additional skills)

Foundation technical understanding of IBM, Oracle and HP server hardware, Solaris, Linux and Windows Server operating systems, networking, storage, clustering and Data Centre topologies.

Good commercial awareness and budget control, and experience of third party services liaison

Detailed knowledge of electrical installation practice to BSth Edition.

Detailed knowledge of The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the ability to inspect for adherence by installers. CG2391 Certificate in Electrical Inspection desirable.

Detailed knowledge of data cabling (copper and fibre) installation requirements, components and application sufficient to assess designs and installation work
