PostgreSQL DBMS DBA - Brussels, Belgium
Languages: ENGLISH with FRENCH and/or DUTCH essential.
Skills and Experience:
- Licensed or graduate in computer science.
- Experience of at least 5 years in the exercise of this function.
- Experience in database management in an operational and distributed environment, in the definition and development of backup/recovery procedures, in support for the installation and configuration of DBMS systems, in optimization and monitoring DBMS systems.
- Experience in developing data synchronization mechanisms between several databases.
- Experience in developing DB models according to the specific needs of development projects.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL DBMS and/or Caché Intersystems and/or ElasticSearch.
- Knowledge of ETL/Datawarehouse tools (SAS, SAP).
- Knowledge of database connectivity (ODBC/JDBC, web services, XML, .NET).
- Knowledge of Enterprise Linux (preferably Redhat Enterprise Linux) and Windows server operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office products.
- Knowledge of network standards (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL (SSH, SCP,).
Description of Work:
- Database modelling for different applications.
- Provide support to users and developers.
- Monitoring, fine-tuning and security of data.
- Guarantee the continuity of services by developing backup/restore procedures and testing them.
- Optimizing and improving the services of the databases.
- Contribute to the digital transformation by the implementation of various tools and technologies in a secure manner in order to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
