Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £240/day (inside of IR35). This role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:
Work with Portfolio Manager and Finance Business Partner to ensure the organisation has an effective and externally focused commercial strategy
Ensure there is an effective self funding model which underpins the forecast
Operational management of income delivery through working with the Leadership team to ensure forecasts are accurate and billing is complete.
Management reporting of key performance indicators
Co-ordinate portfolio reporting into governance forums
Lead service management and quality improvement initiatives across the organisation and manage the delivery of service improvement initiatives across the organisation. As a member of the PMO's Leadership Team contribute to the corporate responsibility for leadership, governance and achievement of objectives and statutory and mandatory requirements.
The post holder will be a key member of the PMO leadership team and will work closely with Programme Directors. This will include management of the Commercial Model, engagements and projected Income in partnership with Finance.
The postholder manages operational delivery of income delivery, reporting, performance management and asset management. The postholder has direct line management responsibility for one Analyst.

Able to evidence specialism in the field of finance and commercial management within a project environment
A high level of PC literacy is required, with particular strengths in Microsoft Office applications. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Ability to translate often complex or detailed information into simple, brief reports whilst highlighting any issues and meeting the needs of internal/external customers
Formulation and delivery of simple financial models
Awareness of Quality and Governance frameworks
Understanding information governance and data protection
