Mainframe Network Systems Programmer- London/Sheffield- Initial 6-month contract

I am currently working with a global technology consultancy who are looking for an experienced Mainframe Network Systems Programmer to work onsite for one of their largest clients based in either London or Sheffield for an initial 6-month contract.

Due to COVID-19, this will be fully remote working then will be onsite once restrictions have been lifted.

Aim:
The role involves configuring and supporting z/OS Communications Server, Network Managers, Session Managers, File Transfer applications, Printing subsystems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
*Responsible for resolving any network connectivity issues within client's network infrastructures
*Be a member of the z/OS Mainframe networking team to help support multiple z/OS environments
*Standardisation of Mainframe network configurations to improve customer service.

Key Skills:
*Experience with IBM VTAM, TCPIP (z/OS Communication Server), IBM Network Sysplex Distributor, IBM Network HyperSockets IBM Policy Agent & AT-TLS
*Mainframe Network Encryption experience
*IDS DSME - APPN Distribution Session Management Exit IBM Enterprise Extender
*IP/DLC HPR - High Performance Routing APPN - Advanced Peer to Peer Networking SNA & IP
*Design for Mainframe Connectivity Design and Implement Client Requested Connectivity Solutions
*Routers, Switches, Firewalls Disaster Recovery Exercises Service Requests IBM Utilities
*JCL, Batch Jobs, Procs GTF Trace/IP Trace/Dumps/SLIPs/Wireshark (Execute, Format, Read, Debug) Exits/Usermods (Write, Implement, Debug) Software Packaging (SMPE)
*Incident/Problem/Change/Software Asset Mgmt (ITIL) Technology Enhancements
*Ideally, have worked in a Bank or organisations with large installations
*Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be a true team player
*Will need to provide off-hours support for the implementation of software changes, when required
*Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
