SAP EWM MM ECC DATA Warehouse Brussels Belgium
Languages required: Dutch and English

The warehouse is restocked by the central warehouse. The warehouse supplies antenna (s), service point warehouse (s), and technicians. Today, the warehouse uses SAP MM/EWM modules to manage its purchasing and inventory.

Technical context

Compared to the future migration from the current SAP R/3 system to SAP S/4 HANA system, it has been decided to use a decentralized EWM 9.5 system.

The entire EWM landscape (development/acceptance/production) has already been installed on the IT system, and must be used for this mission.

SAP modules TM & APO are not installed on R/3 system.

The objectives of this mission are:

  • Guiding people locally with the warehouse tasks as provided for in the blueprint and training material, and if necessary, providing additional training and explanation
  • Identify the problems that occur with the EWM module on site.
  • Report to the project manager of the problems
  • Identify issues, this can be about issues in
  • customizing (eWM)
  • developments (eWM)
  • Make a proposal to resolve these issues. An issue can be a bug, a change request of an existing functionality or a work-around
  • Adjusting prices related to change requests that have been established (in the eWM module)
  • Coordination/follow-up with the developers
  • Testing (technical unit testing/regression testing/user acceptance testing) before transport to production

Scope

Below is a non-exhaustive summary of the logistics processes that are the subject of this assignment.

The following flows must be covered:

  • Receipt of deliveries from central warehouse (with stock transport order): deliveries are linked to a shipment, and packaged in HU at shipment level
  • Receipt of deliveries from external supplier for local purchases:
  • No ASN nor HU data available today.
  • Reception process for both flows is done via custom RF receiving transaction

The processes below are part of the receipt flow:

  • Cross-docking (determination is done through custom development)
  • Deconsolidation/repacking/labelling
  • Outbound process

The following flows must be covered:

  • Issue regarding reservation (including PM/PS module)
  • Delivery to Antenna and/or service point (SPM) (with transfer reservations)
  • Delivery to other LCI (STO/delivery)

The processes below are part of the supply flow:

  • Wave picking: in some parts of the warehouse, pick locations need to be restocked, then picking can take place
  • Packing
  • Staging
  • Loading
  • Transportation with shipping cockpit
  • Internal processes

The processes below must be covered:

  • Min-max and order related replenishment
  • Rearrangement (optimization of storage space)
  • Inventory ("periodic", "ad-hoc", and "low stock check")
  • Integration & interface
  • Integration with EH&S module must be provided (storage in accordance with safety rules, printing of ADR documents, ...)
  • Integration with vertical lift (Hänel, Modula, Kardex, ) must be provided
  • Integration with PP module is out of scope of this mission

Specific processes

  • Cables & reels: the picking, cutting, and monitoring of cables and reels must be covered (proposal: cables will be managed with batch number, reels will be processed as a handling unit).
  • Specific reels should also be managed as returnable packaging .
  • Material with an expiry date must be managed. A process must be provided to automatically retrieve expired material from stock
  • Return process: defective or unused material must be returned to central warehouse. This process must be covered with EWM & ERP.
  • Defective and good material are managed with different material number which offers an extra complexity when it comes to material with serial number.
  • Reporting

Deliverables

  • On-site support
  • Provide training to key users & end users on site in the warehouse
  • Conversion/upload data if still necessary for the proper functioning of the warehouse
  • Documentation/adjustment of frices following established issue
  • Test script for end user to be able to do acceptance tests with end user
  • Reporting of issues that arise
  • Proposal of solution
  • Support end user with daily tasks (use EWM RF with certain hardware (Zebra TC52 & proglove scanners, Zebra ZQ630/ZT230 printers)
  • Support for tailor-made developments:
  • RF reception functionality (automatic packing, Goods receipt posting, printing putaway labels, generation of putaway tasks) and guiding the end user in this
  • Mail functionality (automatic mail to customer when picking tasks are confirmed) and guiding the end user in this
  • HU copy functionality (conversion from HU in LE-TRA to EWM) and guiding the end user in this
  • Multi-HU staging functionality and guiding the end user in this
  • Interface with VLM (gigasoft)
  • Automatic Master data determination based on both EWM & ECC data
