The Role

You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of configuration management solutions. Moreover, they provide support for infrastructure, design and develop tools for infrastructure monitoring and reporting.

They need to maintain local documentation, which gets updated on all features of Servers.

Technicians collaborate with other teams to ensure security best practices across an organization's applications and deploy solutions to enhance productivity.

Engineers need to create documentation on systems related to IT and knowledge base areas.

Finally, they must have the inclination and the capability to learn new technologies and provide support for them.

You will be supporting in flight project (designs ready to go), existing team

Focused on containerization of the current estate

Top 3 required skills

Experience in Containerization

Understanding of RHEL (RedHat)/CentOS/Ubuntu

Experience of application and system automation (ideally Ansible)

Experience:

  • Engineers with knowledge of various Linux Operating Systems such as RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu.
  • Logical Volume Management (LVM), disks and file systems including configuration and administration.
  • Network configurations including multiple network interfaces and Firewall rules.
  • Service administration and configuration and associated dependences.
  • High availability services including applications/services such as databases, web services and shared/replicated file systems such as GlusterFS.
  • Package management yum/dfn/apt, including configuration, deployment and dependencies.
  • Partner with application developers and third parties to create robust application and system deployments using development tools and languages such as Git/Python/Shell/etc
  • Application and system automation tooling such as Ansible and Puppet.
  • Performance optimisation of OS and applications to ensure the services and functionality is abundantly available.
  • Provide sophisticated monitoring and troubleshooting for Linux-based Servers. Use troubleshooting procedures and technical information to identify severity of incidents and carry out accordingly the resolution process. Research issues that do not have a recognized solution and prepare a resolution process for them
  • Experience of containerization technology enabling the creation and use of Linux containers, highly desirable
