Konvergent is working with one of their key partners in the communications industry to Implement business & IT Architecture processes and ways of working into executable project plans.
IT Architecture: Strategic Proof of Concept Project Manager (Procurements)
Responsible for managing the delivery of individual procurements which support Architecture's transformation and/or business roadmaps. You will plan, drive and coordinate the procurement activity and demonstrate high levels of ownership and initiative. Proactively work with teams that span multiple business areas whilst Influencing and driving a virtual team in excess of an average of stakeholders. This will include the immediate project team but also IT Architecture senior managers and other indirect project team members.
The PM is required to:
> Will be responsible for procurements relating to component parts/subsections of IT architecture transformational change (up to £15m)
> Engage with all key stakeholders across the business and maintain these relationships
> Create detailed schedules for the procurement activities and track progress
> Ensure dependencies are identified & managed
> Where necessary, facilitate logistics associated with the various stages of procurement (eg PoCs, Evaluations, meetings)
> Provide updates and reports as requested and in the approved format
> Communicate project milestones and deliverables to the wider project team, ensuring to articulate risks and issues in a business context so that the full impacts are understood
Attributes and experience:
> Understand (at a high level) the transformation benefits relating to individual procurements and align the project plan to meet these
> Must be able to respond appropriately and flexibly. Experienced in using a range of project management approaches to drive towards the best outcomes
> Clearly communicate project milestones and deliverables to the wider project team. Is able to articulate risks and issues in a business context so that the full impacts are understood
> Able to understand when an issue requires escalation and articulate this clearly through the correct chain of command to obtain the resolution
> Can obtain stakeholder support for the plan. Able to get stakeholder buy-in to key milestones and delivery dates
> Able to communicate clearly with vendors within the parameters of the procurement boundaries
> Identify sensitive/confidential information and manage it in line with the business protocols
> High-level understanding of technology components
> Have a good understanding of the procurement life cycle
> Experienced in operating governance processes in large organisations
> Able to operate at pace, quickly developing a good understanding of the problem and outcomes
> Must have excellent attention to detail, finisher-completer skills. Own tasks, actions and plans through to completion
This is a contract opportunity and will sit outside of IR35
