Senior Network and Security Engineer (SC)

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
It is essential you can provide evidence and examples for each of the following in your application:
*Governance and assurance. You can evolve and define governance and take responsibility for collaborating and supporting this concept in wider governance. You know how to assure services delivered by architects across sets of services.
*IT infrastructure. You can create, design and implement infrastructure technologies, solutions and services such as: computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS and open source packages and solutions, and virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Core network skills to include, routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF's etc), switching (VLANS, STP, Stacking, etc)
*System integration. You know how to create the design of network services within a team requiring moderate to complex service integration, particularly experience of integration with Azure & AWS related networking and typical DMZ architectures and Express Route, and proven experience of capacity availability monitoring and analysis tools using (including Solar Winds).
*Systems design. You can design secure systems characterised by medium levels of risk, impact, and business or technical complexity. You know how to select appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure they are applied effectively. You can review the systems designs of others to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and the integration of multiple systems and technology. Substantial experience in designing, deploying, and managing of Cisco Wireless/LAN networks, Cisco DNA Centre/SD-Access networks.
*Technical understanding. You have a deep understanding of the technical concepts required in the role including LAN, WAN, WiFi, data-centre networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network-specific security, remote access technologies and approaches, SIEM and IPS/IDS technologies and toolset used for vulnerability scanning including Nessus, understanding of SIP, VoIP, Video Conferencing, managing QOS and good knowledge of Microsoft Visio to create network documentation.
*Troubleshooting and problem resolution. You can break a problem down into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes. You know how to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities, particularly Cisco Catalyst 9500, 9300, 3850 and Nexus 3K Switches, Cisco FTD, Checkpoint and Palo Alto Firewalls in HA configured environments, Cisco ISE including NAC, 802.1x, Certificates and Guest Portal.
