Description
AWS Optimisation Specialist - To support in the creation of an automated solution which will take data from AWS billing (and other areas) to provide recommendations on how to reduce costs in AWS.
Skills/experience
- Good general knowledge of core AWS services.
- Experience in how to optimise AWS manually or through 3rd party tools.
- Knowledge of AWS billing data.
- Knowledge of other data points like CloudWatch.
- Understanding of reservations, how they are applied and how they perform.
- Understanding of Savings Plans, how they are applied and how they perform.
- How to take utilisation data and provide recommendations on rightsizing
- Experience with RDS, options and how to monitor performance.
Duties
- Provide guidance on what data is available from AWS and how it needs to be processed.
- Provide insight on what to so with the data and how to interpret the data.
- Support and validation that the solution is working correctly.
- Testing of the solution.
- Discussion with client to capture business requirements.
