Magento 2 Platform Architect is required by global publishing client for high-profile 6 month E-commerce project, working remotely.
Up to £700/day - Inside IR35.

Purpose of your role
As a Platform Architect for Magento eCommerce you will work with global, multi-functional, teams to support the strategic development of our core multi-region E-commerce platform and other E-commerce channels supporting ~$40M of annual revenue from across the world.
Your key focus will be providing architectural guidance and solution design/implementation oversight as we continue the evolution of our heterogeneous estate towards a more consolidated, standard platform.
Recommended experience
* Expert knowledge of Magento 2 with demonstrable experience in designing and delivering enterprise scale E-commerce capability.
* Direct experience (5+ years) as a Platform Architect (or equivalent) looking after a shared E-commerce platform and working with multiple business stakeholder and other technology consumers.
* Related development experience with within a complex heterogenous E-commerce environment.
* Deep understanding of Magento's capabilities (inc. multiple sites/stores/views, cross-selling capability, currency and tax, subscription-based and digital products, promotions/trials/bundles, etc.).
Key accountability and responsibility
* Accountable for ensuring our platform architecture to achieve our long-term E-commerce strategy.
* Responsible for and accountable for the provision of appropriate documentation to clearly define both asis and target platform architecture along with incremental interim stages to bridge the two.
* Responsible for ensuring short and mid-term E-commerce solution design aligns towards the strategic architecture and adheres to design best practice.
* Responsible for providing advice and guidance on E-commerce implementation standards and best practice and accountable for validating that guidance is followed.
* Responsible for delivering technical designs and related artefacts to development teams as needed, to facilitate the development of an appropriate system to defined and emerging business requirements.
* Responsible for supporting the wider technology and business team in their understand, definition and review of requirements (at all levels), business cases, use cases, business processes, business metrics and functional specifications

* Passion for creating successful global E-commerce platforms by making the complex simple and putting the customer need at the heart of what you do.
* Track-record of defining solution architecture that successfully manages to balance the often-conflicting needs of multiple channels, product types and customer groups.
* Excellent communication in all forms for both a technical and business audiences.
