Quality Manager

Our Banking client are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager to join their Edinburgh based team on an initial 6 month contract.

Role Description:

The Quality Manager will be responsible for leading, developing and executing all the test activities across all aspects of the Bank in One Place (BIOP) programme of work, including working with all key internal and external partners, including Mobile Banking, infrastructure, architecture and Tink and Runpath 3rd parties.

This is a key role to ensure the success of the programme, and their technical and business understanding and the ability to lead and execute on all test activities is key. The Quality Manager will possess expert understanding of testing in a Banking and Mobile App environment, and has deep experience working with internal and external partners (Mobile Banking, Data, Customer insights, etc) to collaborate effectively to meet quality and delivery targets.

The Quality Manager will be involved in most of the project life cycle, and will lead and drive all Testing activities (from understanding requirements and solution, to coordinating test environments and data, to the different test phases (SIT, NFT and UAT), and ultimately drive and deliver the test governance.

Proven experience of working in an Agile environment, supporting multiple initiatives is essential, as is the ability to react & adapt to priority items across the portfolio of work.

Key accountabilities

  • Leading on all quality matters across the platform/Domain, including adopting and complying with the organisation's standards and policies whilst also being a strong advocate in the support of improvements to the same
  • Producing comprehensive and robust quality strategies and detailed quality test plans that enable the continual flow of work packages across the domain, feature value stream or programme
  • Accountable for all aspects of quality across both 'run' and 'change' and 'BAU' activity with the assigned Platform/Domain
  • Responsible for plans and the integration of quality teams in Test or Behaviour Driven Development Environments or any and other 'better ways of working' as they emerge from time to time
  • Accountable for the output quality from all testing phases owned and ensuring it meets the requirements of each Quality (Test) Strategy

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Previous Mobile App Testing Experience
  • Experience of API testing (SOAP UI, Postman)
  • Experience of using Selenium, Silk, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft DevOps
  • Open Banking knowledge
  • Data aggregation experience
  • System & System Integration Testing experience
  • Performance & Security test experience
  • Previous Agile working experience
  • Experience of working with multiple platforms, including off-shore teams
  • Working in a Agile environment, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate knowledge or ideally previous experience of
    • Attendance and participation at daily scrums
    • Sprint planning sessions
    • Contributing to Sprint retrospectives
  • Mainframe knowledge beneficial
  • Previous examples of successfully implementing Automation testing
