*Test Manager, GDS/QAT/Automation, remote working until end March 2021, Market rate, inside IR35.*

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager to join the Working Safely project.
The Test Manager will have previous experience of working with Government Digital Services (GDS)and can take ownership of the Quality Assurance and Testing (QAT) strategy for a public service digital service.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role are to:

  • Develop a test strategy and process that can be adopted for all projects requiring a GDS assessment
  • Manage and conduct functional and non-functional testing of the service.
  • Manage user acceptance testing ensuring service is usable and free of bugs and defects.
  • Advise and guide colleagues as well as provide support for development team, including the Business Analyst, Project Manager, User Researcher, UX Designer, Content Designer and Service Manager
  • Work with IT to conduct accessibility testing to ensure the digital service meets appropriate standards
  • Work with to onboard and manage a 3rd party supplier to conduct vulnerability and penetration testing
  • Produce test reports and metrics

Skills description:

  • Functional testing - you can design and execute a wide range of testing techniques and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

You must be able to demonstrate experience of:

  • Test Management of all aspects of Software Testing across the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Automation testing, tools and/or continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), PVT, OAT.

Desirable Criteria:

  • The complete Software Development Lifecycle
  • Working within Agile/Scrum teams
  • A relevant software testing qualification/s eg ISEB/ISTQB (or equivalent)
  • Line and/or work management experience
  • Managing change in an IT environment

Key Outcomes

  • Effective communication between stakeholders, operations and the project team.
  • Testing documentation produced to a high quality, is timely and proportionate, and is appropriately governed.
  • Business readiness is effective in order to receive the changes.
  • Develop a test strategy and process that can be adopted for all projects requiring a GDS assessment

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Qualified to APMPMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent. Previous Experience of Government Digital Services. Candidate with Security
