This is less a technical role and more a business level data architect analyst role

My client is looking for Data Architect w/Insurance domain, and I wanted to know whether this would be of interest to you or not?

Position: Data Architect w/Insurance domain

Duration: 6months +

Location: London, UK

Rate: 500 GBP per day (Inside IR35)

Job specs:

  • Required experienced data architect modeler/analyst to join the team and undertake analysis activities to map out the data across the lines of business.
  • Suitable candidate need to demonstrable experience in similar previous roles and be able to operate at a programme/enterprise level of data analysis.
  • This is less a technical role and more a business level data architect analyst role where you will be applying knowledge of data definition, data models and data mappings across business capabilities and applications to help draw out commonalities, differences and therefore contribute to a proposed future state.

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Reports to Lead Data Architect as part of the architecture team
  • Arrange and attend requirements gathering meetings and workshops.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements to distil these into data requirements.
  • Document data entity and key data attribute definitions for business review and approval
  • Discuss and develop entity relation diagrams at a conceptual level.
  • Map out data flows on the end-to-end journey through the scope of the architecture showing how data is captured and processed through business capabilities and applications.
  • Map the data assets to capabilities and to applications to show data usage.
  • Identify and document issues and opportunities with data to inform the recommendations and target architecture.
  • Contribute to an enterprise level data architecture across the financial services business for policy administration.
  • NB- this is not a technical database administrator or database design role.

Skills and Experience Specification:

The successful candidate will be an experienced data analyst and/or data modeler with a business analysis focus. Equally this role would suit a business analyst with experience and acumen for data definition and modelling.

  • Good interaction and communication skills to quickly establish rapport with business and technical SME personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent documentation skills to create clear business level definitions in diagrams and written form.
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of business focused data models using conceptual Datamodelling techniques as a key communication tool.
  • Demonstrable experience of data analysis gained on BI and reporting projects, migration projects or
  • Experience with a broad range of data analysis tools including a good working knowledge of SQL and use of tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, MS Excel,
  • Experience of working with Datamodelling tools (Erwin or others) and understanding of reverse engineering and cataloguing of technical data using Datamodelling and data catalogue tools.
  • Experience of data quality frameworks and assessing data quality/data defects is desirable.
  • Experience of master data management and reference data management implementations is desirable.
  • Experience in General Insurance, ideally within specialty commercial and London Markets
