Ihre Aufgaben:
- Actively work with business analyst(s) and/or scientists in the NIBR research groups to understand their needs and ensure that developed applications meet business goals
- Review application requirements and designs to provide feedback and development estimates.
- Evaluate alternative approaches, recommend solutions, prototype solutions as needed and write technical documentation
- Work with internal IT groups, vendors and other third parties to define/design information technology solutions to business problems and present the designs to other project members.
- Write and maintain high quality, robust and well-documented code, primarily Microsoft Office-based applications interacting with web services (REST/SOAP) following the department's processes and standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing applications and restore normal operations in a timely and accurate fashion
Ihre Qualifikation
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office – based application development (including deployment in a large enterprise)
- Demonstrated experience of working in a service oriented environment, preferably using REST and/or SOAP service implementations
- Solid understanding of critical software architecture patterns and tradeoffs
- Proven knowledge and experience of key Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and SOA concepts
- Experience with Agile development and rapid prototyping
- Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Team player with effective interpersonal skills who can work in an autonomous setting
- Thorough, detail-oriented and highly organized
- Demonstrated experience with software life cycle, source control, packaging build and test tools
- Self-motivated, dedicated with a desire to learn
- Fluency in English
- Experience in life science is an asset
