Ihre Aufgaben:
    The Lead OSS Technician is primarily responsible for providing technical support for all On-site Support Services in steady state and for project related work.Principal Responsibilities: (Essential Function)
  • Provide 24 x 7 on-call troubleshooting support for issues with NMS tools (issues raised through the incident management process).
  • Pickup support task from incident tickets and drive tool issues to resolution. Adhere to the Incident management process and SLAs for support tasks
  • Raise vendor Trouble tickets as deemed necessary to solve a tool issue temporarily (work around, hotfix ) or permanently (e.g. patch). Provide information into the raised tickets and ensure speedy handling.The supplier shall elaborate on a suggested way to interwork with all Tool vendors and required SLAs.
  • Use the Problem Management process to provide solutions and prevention for major impact tool outages or temporarily fixed tool issues.
  • Perform reviews for Changes raised. (pickup notification for review invites, assess change for impact on NMS tools). Ensure all reviews are done within the SLAs defined in the Change management process
  • Perform regular health checks (issues, warnings, performance trends) of all NMS tools and proactively solve potential issues
  • Analyze and setup reports about tool health, availability and performance as well as key metrics of the managed devices to help improving stability and availability of the NMS tools
  • Perform corrective actions on all NMS systems to restore functionality after issues.
  • Perform Operational Impact Analysis (OIA) on all tools to determine costs and resources efforts from new services / products. (input will be the Marketing Service description and additional high level concepts)
  • Provide support for users to gain access to the NMS tools (includes connectivity, user accounts, client installations/guidance, instructions and manuals).
  • Document NMS solutions (architecture diagrams, procedures, configuration snippets, etc.)
  • Support lab setups for NMS tools and perform testing of NMS solutions.
  • Support the NOC with access issues for their monitoring tools.
  • Operate the VM servers used by NMS to administrate NMS tools (e.g. ESB console).
  • Operate the Wiki server used for documentation of NMS tools and setups.
  • Operate the Clearvision server (home-grown MS Win+SQL based monitoring system for Tellabs HDTs)
  • Operate the Previsor server (monitoring for TDM voice switches).
  • Operate and expand the cacti Voice performance management solution for covering the UPC footprint TDM and VoIP switches
  • Execute all functionality and user impacting tool modifications in the agreed (nightly) maintenance window.
  • Coordinate on-site activities and act as the lead the onsite team lead
  • Provide solutions to meet client needs.
