Scala Developer | Hadoop | Inside IR35
SR2's consultancy client is looking for Hadoop/Scala Developer to join them for a 6-12 month contract for a Bristol-based project. This will be remote for now, but the expectation is that you would work from Bristol post-Covid.
The consultancy is one of the top software consultancies in the UK with a fantastic culture and multiple awards.
We're looking for people with the below experience. Essential
- Strong functional Scala programming experience
- Spark experience, with Data Frames
- Demonstrable agile working
- Strong documentation
- TDD/BDD experience
- Experience with Git/GitHub
- Continuous Integration and DevOps tools
- JIRA/Confluence
- Linux Shell Scripting
Desirable
- Scala libraries (Cats, Shapeless or Frameless)
- Spark application performance and tuning
- Spark SQL
- Maven or other build tools (SBT, Gradle, etc)
- Experience with Python and PySpark
- HDFS command line tool, Apache Hive, Apache HBase, Apache Oozie, etc
