Description
We are recruiting for a Data Engineer for an initial 3 month contract with a high chance of extension and will be working fully remote. Due to the nature of the client the successful candidate will be required to hold SC Clearance.
As a data engineer, you will have experiencing in industrialising the delivery of data products and services into systems and business processes. The Data Engineer role will be utilising company and Third-Party data to build jobs utilising SAS tools. This will allow the company to identify cases for compliance intervention. Data will also be built to be displayed to our end users through SAS Visual Investigator.
Requirements:
- Design, build, test and maintain data management systems, making sure they meet business requirements and user needs
- Deliver services that are automated, reliable and secure
- Work closely with data architects and data scientists
- Recommend ways to improve data efficiency and reliability
Experience Required:
- Aware of the need to translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understands what communication is required to internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertakes data profiling and source system analysis and can present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
- Designs, builds and tests data products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods. Creates repeatable and reusable products.
- Delivers data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable and future-proof.
- Understands the concepts and principles of Datamodelling and is able to produce, maintain and update relevant data models for specific business needs. Reverse engineer data models from a live system.
- Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents simple programs or scripts under the direction of others.
- Understands core technical concepts related to their role and is able to apply them with guidance.
- Experience working in the public/government sector.
