Senior Cloud Data Manager
London based - Initial 6 Month term - £600 - £640 per day - Subject to IR35
We are currently rec ruiting for a Senior Cloud Data Manager for our global client based in central London.
Our clients Data Office is helping to transform the organisation into a data-driven enterprise, where proactive insight is at the heart of their decision making.
The Role
The Senior Cloud Data Manager role is accountable for driving and defining Service Delivery's scope of a c. £20m CTIO led programme to deliver the organisations journey to Cloud based Data. The role will be responsible for democratisation of data and ensuring Service Delivery harness the power of moving to the Cloud.
You will be expected to:
* Understand the way that data and the cloud need to be used & exploited in Service Delivery for maximum value
* Provide the one truth source for Data and Measures, insuring quality and integrity of the data required to deliver Service Delivery's regulatory obligations and £4bn of revenue
* Expand the Service Delivery data catalogue and ensure that all data required is available in a consumable way across the business
Responsibilities
* Recognised as a subject matter expert across the organisation in truly understanding the way that data and the cloud need to be used & exploited in their business for maximum value.
* Creation of a strong interlock with CTIO specifically in order to ensure delivery performance is enabled by powerful AI-ready architecture, as well as an aligned and consistent approach to technologies
* Accountable for providing one true source for Data and an AI enabled platform that enables easily deployable data assets.
* Accountable for expanding SD Data catalogue and ensure that all data required is available in a consumable way
* Responsible for powering & supporting the Business Intelligence, Applied Analytics & Process Re-engineering squads in being able to deliver their objectives by enabling seamless access to data and Cloud capabilities in conjunction with CTIO
* Shape, develop, transition and maintain data assets to be fully cloud-native, moving them to fully harness the future-state of their business in terms of data, technology and operations
* Maintain integrity of Service Delivery data and drive data control of future Service Delivery system implementation
* Ownership of DevOps & productionalisation of data & analytical solutions with support of Data Management & CTIO
Skills & Qualities
* Ability to build strong relationships with senior (up to Managing Director level) stakeholders across the business.
* Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and manage senior stakeholders effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
* Experience building, running and managing high performing data technology/engineering teams.
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication and data presentation skills.
* Experience of data engineering on cloud platforms: GCP and AWS in particular.
* Proficient with common data engineering tools including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Hadoop, StreamSets, Glue.
* Experience in developing and scaling data technologies across big data, cloud data processing and data stores, operational and analytics databases.
* Understanding of modern best practices in software development and modern infrastructure.
* Awareness of new developments in the world of data and how they could be applied to the organisation.
* Experience of data security and working with data that has associated legal compliance duties is preferred, but not essential.
* Experience in building large scale cloud native architecture is preferred, but not essential.
Education
* B.S. or M.S. in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, IT, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics).
* 3-5+ years' industry experience in a data related role
