Job Title: Naval Architecture Engineer
Please note this role is inside IR35 and you must either be currently security cleared of eligible of clearance.
Job Skills Requirements:
- A Senior Naval Architect, Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with 5 or more years' experience working at that level. If not Chartered, then candidates must have a minimum of 9 years' experience and evidence of ongoing CPD and relevant innovation in recent tasks must be provided
- Recent experience (last 3 years) of working on naval ship pre-concept and/or concept design studies, especially frigates and future combatants, including understanding key design drivers and the impacts of combat and marine system choices
- Recent experience (last 3 years) of designing for modular and off-board capabilities,including knowledge of unmanned systems (UXVs) and related launch & recovery
technologies - Recent experience (last 3 years) of assessing platform options and establishing cost-benefit drivers through analysis of a range of scenarios (eg fleet mix), including alternative acquisition models (eg military conversion) with a good understanding of the cost profiling for a new ship acquisition programme;
- Experience of Naval Ship Design & Defence Standards
- Ability, experience, and proof of producing high quality, well-structured and logically written reports within tight timescales that clearly communicate an understanding of the task, the work carried out, conclusions and recommendations made to the sponsor
- Team player but able to work with minimum of supervision.
